I felt like doing something traditionally again.

I hate hate HATE what scanner does for my pictures! :x
The orange/brown turned into pink and the green turned out as yellow D:
And i hate how i suck with putting these things together: again, i had to scan this in 4 parts and i suck with scanning too. lol. :XD:

Anyways, i hope you can see that theres some weird waterdragon-thingie with some two weirdo fishies. This turned out pretty differently i originally planned but i like it. Looks nice on my wall. ;P

My fingers are freezing.

Uh... many hours. (even if it doesn't look like it...) || A3 watercolor paper || watercolors (the cheapest ones) || inks, non waterproof (and stupid me, i inked the pic before watercoloring... D:) || few braincells sacrificed

oh i love this. Were you inspired by the River King story?

I love that story. Of how in the river of life golden koi swim, until they reach the Dragon Waterfall, by this time they are exhuasted but if a koi manages to jump over the waterfall they become dragons.

Or something like that. If it's not what inspired you it certianly bring the story to mind.

yeah i probably got a few things wrong. It's been a long time since i last heard it, but i know it was something like that.

It's such a beautiful picture, i know you said the scanner ruined it a bit, but i think it looks great, as if it's an old painting.

I love the jade colour of the swirls and the sea creature here! The plumes, the scales, so perfect! I also love those koi fish!:D
