I believe that's actually both conscious and unconscious change. Over time Cut's head has kind of grown longer on it's own, at first it was just simply happening when I drew him but these days I draw it long intentionally, because I've really liked the change. It makes him look different, more sleek and sharp in a way. And not many characters have such a long shaped head so makes him stand out of the crowd a little more in my eyes..
I'm thinkin' this is the first time I've seen Skull-headed Cutlass and Human-headed Riptail together. You've also gotten very good at drawing human faces. Riptail also looks more mature drawn like that. Still cute n' innocent looking, but in a more grown-up way.
Also the whole picture is impressive!
